Who We Are?

“BIOHELLENIKA” CELL THERAPY CENTRE

“Biohellenika” Cell Therapy Centre is the first Filipino owned cord blood bank in the Philippines and throughout Asia. It was established on July 2016.

BCTC is a Master Franchisee for cord blood, cord tissue and VSELs banking services of Biohellenika S. A. It is a Division of SwissPharma Research Laboratories, Inc. with 46 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry located in Barrio Pittland, Cabuyao, Laguna.

Biohellenika S.A. is a medically oriented stem cells company based in Thessaloniki, Greece. This is the company that granted the Master Franchise to “Biohellenika” Cell Therapy Centre. Through this collaboration, all technical expertise, information, and training were provided by Biohellenika S.A. The quality control system guided by the GMP and the ISBT 1028 Coding System was put in place in preparation for the AABB and ISO 9001 certifications.

“Biohellenika” Cell Therapy Centre is a registered “Special Clinical Laboratory” by the Department of Health with Registration Number SCL-0005-18-48-2. It is registered as a health facility authorized to collect, process and cryopreserve umbilical cord blood and cord tissue. It is duly accredited by the Department of Health under DOH Administrative Order No. 2013-0012.

The scientific and advisory board members belong to a long list of renowned specialists from various teaching universities and hospitals in the Philippines.

Biohellenika S.A. was founded, organized and operates under the guidance of academic medical doctors and the strictest European and international standards. Today, Biohellenika S.A. is the first choice of parents who want to cryopreserve their child's stem cells, presents steady growth in number of samples and is classified among the largest stem cell banks in Europe.

Biohellenika S.A. is one of the few companies in Europe that has the international accreditation AABB (American Association of Blood Banks), which enables the family to use stem cells in any hospital worldwide.

It has successfully released cryopreserved stem cells from umbilical cord blood for autologous therapies all over the world and supports clinical trials in collaboration with qualified specialists and medical groups.
